Eastern Effects’ Level 2 Soundstage and Studio facilities are located in Brooklyn, New York and Kearny, New Jersey. The 8 studios are spread across 3 campuses in Gowanus, East Brooklyn, and Kearny, NJ. As part of our studio services, we offer lighting, grip & electric, camera, expendables, production supplies, and catering recommendations. Our turn-key solution makes it simple for our customers to receive superior service from our knowledgeable studio staff. From the King of Staten Island to The Americans, from POSE to Tesla, our clients range from small to large, short productions to multi-year series.


Each studio facility features private dressing rooms, ample storage space, drive-in access, and breakrooms with full kitchens. Our facility in Kearny, NJ features 1 massive soundstage with 17 private offices.


Eastern Effects’ Gowanus and East Brooklyn locations are Level 2 New York State Qualified Production Facilities*. Our rental managers are well-versed in assisting our customers with qualifying for the New York State Film Production Tax Credit.

*Productions shooting at our New York City soundstages can qualify for up to a 25% tax credit. Our studios are Level 2 Qualified Production Facilities. Referred to as QPF, studio facilities in the State of New York in which television shows and films are regularly produced, and which contain at least one soundstage of at least 7,000 square feet with no columns, has at least 16’ of clearance to the grid, and has enough electricity, cooling and heating without the need for outside units. 10% of the total principal photography shooting days must be at a qualified production facility (QPF) in New York State for the tax credit.


** New Jersey's film tax credit awarded by the NJEDA is equal to 30% to 35% of qualified film production expenses. The program will run through 2034. Read more about the tax credit and diversity bonus on NJ Department of State website.
