The King of Staten Island
Written by Judd Apatow, Pete Davidson, and Dave Sirus and starring Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live, Bodies Bodies Bodies), Marisa Tomei, and Bill Burr, the film, The King of Staten Island, is about a character named Scott, who has been a case of arrested development since his firefighter dad died. He spends his days smoking weed and dreaming of being a tattoo artist until events force him to grapple with his grief and take his first steps forward in life. Shot at Eastern Effects’ sound stages, check out this interview with Judd Apatow as he talks to famed critic, Roger Ebert, about why he wanted to make a movie about Davidson, what he learned from previously making a documentary about comedian and writer Garry Shandling, and directing his daughter Maude Apatow.
